10, vers. 42).
-------------------------------------------------------
What happens!? What's going on!? What's really happening!?
Today I'm talking for all of you, who keep on reading me (...you still there!!??)... today I was watching a picture that goes something like:
"
A social network is like a prison cell: you're seated, you spend - or waste- your time on it, you've got a profile picture, you write on people's wall, you talk to people whom you cannot see..."
(Picture 1)
I'm lately thinking about the true sense and what we intend with our (or some part of our) interaction with the rest of the world. That's not new, before the famous blue social network starting with an "F" appeared, that was happening, it's just that some sharp students managed to put a lot of "0" and "1" in appropriate order creating the current big web that links millions of people through keyboards and screens. But there isn't anything new under the Sun, that is clear.
I'm thinking about the way we show our best side to the rest of the people, reserving those things we don't want to show. Because... has anybody seen in any web or blog people talking about their failures or those things that ashamed them!? Has anybody seen the most usual picture from monday to friday, when our lifes are routine and lack of excitement!? Has anybody seen someone's mother-in-law picture!? :)
Usually (obviously, with exceptions) you can only see funny pictures, enviable, idyllic... of the life that, according to our virtual archive, we have; but isn't really what we actually live, it's like we want to escape of the reality that gets us down, horrifies us, paralyses us...
In my own blog you can see an example of what I'm talking about (yes, this goes against myself). I've been telling to you things that I've lived normally, naturally, trying to contribute with something different... but I've been hiding on purpose other stuff, that prevent this blog to be a "
faithfull register" of my life's situation nowadays (and relax! I don't know where are the ships in the Bermuda Triangle; I neither know who killed JFK, nor know if Duquesa de Alba was on site when wheel was discovered...)
And that's a logical thing: firstly, is not sensible to reveal certain things on the Internet, and secondly and more important, we love to show "beautiful" things and hide "less beautiful things" (calling them in a generous way). The one who shows off less...shows off something. It's part of our "acquired human code of ethics", although some of the people get those appearances to that extreme point, as long as other people decide to face it with humbleness... there's width in the options.
And I'm not saying that the solution is cut with everything from the very roots, like someone set out in the net (in a funny way):
(Picture 2)
(the last option is something like: "Turn off the computer forever,
give up computers and go away, living in the mountains,
eating chestnuts and talking to God")
I'm saying that life is composed by things that are to be uploaded in social networks, blogs, etc. and things that keep on telling us who and what we really are, with no appearances, no masks. Heartbreaking, unpresentable, fraudulent, dissapointing moments... we live it, and people lived it a lot of years ago... their own histories are in the Bible. The great difference is that having that pair of sides if life, with all of it, some of the people could say:
".. but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua, chap. 24, vers.15)
Who am I trying to misslead with my pictures and empty and lighty comments of happiness when I get alone with myself and my miseries!?? Before who I'm trying to show off a way of life that I don't even believe in!??... maybe is not that we have to admit publicly negative things (at least I won't do until the moment our politicians may do and may give to us such an example of citizen... hehe!:) )... but we have to do something with that in low moments, when the breath seems to be gone, in those moments when life loses all incentive...
Because all of this, goes further than my friendship network or the image that I have before all of them... we all are going to the same place and there's only one necessary thing, "and it will not be taken away from us" (Luke gospel, chap. 10, vers. 42).
